It is your responsibility as a spouse and a parent to protect your family. Are you prepared to do that? Do you think you can reason with a person who wants what you have and does not fear you? Think again.
There are very dangerous people in this world and they are a pane of glass away from you and your family. Listen to the former police officer in the video. He clearly states that the police will often times arrive in time to write the report but not in time to save your life. Do the right thing, make a plan to protect yourself and those who rely on you to protect them. If you don't know how to use a firearm, learn, it's not hard.
Sporting goods stores run sales all the time on handguns and shotguns. Ladies, there are many places that will offer all female classes. Don't be intimidated. What's the worst that can happen? You spend a few hundred dollars on a firearm you never have to use. It's so much better to have a gun and not need it than to need a gun and not have one.
